What I Cover

I report on economic development, examining the policies, investments, and market forces that shape Mississippi’s communities and residents’ daily lives. Whether it’s filling up at the gas station, saving for retirement, or paying rent, the economy touches all of us — and I aim to connect the dots between economic decisions and their human impact. My reporting draws on a data-driven approach informed by four years in the biotech industry managing budgets, timelines, and business analytics.

My Background

I joined Mississippi Today on July 7, 2025, as a Report for America corps member. Before becoming a journalist, I spent four years in the biotech industry and two years in nonprofit communications. I earned my Master of Science in journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism in 2025 and a Bachelor of Arts in history from UC Davis in 2018. I was born in Palo Alto, California, and now live in Jackson, Mississippi.
