Video Producer at Mississippi Today

What I Cover

As a member of Mississippi Today’s newly minted video team, I support reporters and editors in producing, scripting, and editing visual stories. My work spans quick-turn vertical video projects to long-form documentary films, all designed to bring audiences closer to the people and issues that shape Mississippi. Producing is my greatest strength — and my diverse media background allows me to collaborate seamlessly across formats and platforms.

My Background

I joined Mississippi Today in September 2025 as a video producer. Before coming here, I worked across journalism, media and film for a decade. Most recently, I served as a field producer for a BBC-commissioned, feature-length documentary about Black midwives. My career also includes reporting and production contributions to outlets like The Washington Post, City Bureau, and Chicago Public Media. I hold a Master of Journalism degree from the University of California, Berkeley (2022), where I was named the Marlon T. Riggs Fellow for Documentary Filmmaking — one of the journalism school’s highest honors. I also participated in Netflix’s 2023 Documentary Archival Researcher Training program. I was born in Atlanta.

Journalistic Ethics

As a Mississippi Today journalist, I follow the Society of Professional Journalists' code of ethics, ensuring my reporting is accurate, fair, and independent. I avoid conflicts of interest and decline gifts, money, or favors from those connected to my work. I aim to produce journalism that serves the public good, reflects the truth, and honors the lived experience of Mississippians.
